If you love beach stories, ocean healing, and soulful conversations about life and wellness, this episode will speak to you.
In this episode of The Beach Speaks, Paige talks with Ameesah Cotten, a graduate of George Washington University’s School of Public Health, and lifelong beach lover whose connection to the ocean began before her first birthday.
From discovering the healing power of salt water as a child to finding clarity and renewal by the waves, Ameesah shares how the beach continues to guide her journey of flow, surrender, and self-discovery.
Together, Paige and Ameesah explore the intersection of mental clarity, nature, and personal health - and how the beach reminds us of our deep interconnectedness with one another and the world around us.
About Ameesah:
Ameesah Cotten is a graduate of George Washington University's School of Public Health with a lifelong connection to the ocean that began at 10 months old during my first trip to Jamaica. Growing up with eczema, her mom introduced me to the therapeutic properties of salt water and sand exfoliation, fostering an early appreciation for the ocean.
She finds that proximity to large bodies of water provides her with mental clarity and restoration, particularly during demanding periods in life. Ameesha strongly believes the ocean serves as a powerful reminder of our interconnectedness with water and the natural world.
Whether she's reading, people-watching, or simply listening to the rhythm of the waves, the beach remains her most reliable space for reflection and renewal.
